On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Trisakti, held an educational visit to Tzu Chi Secondary School Pantai Indah Kapuk as a participant in the Career Day 2025 event. This visit aims to introduce the world of mechanical engineering to high school students, as well as provide an overview of career opportunities in this field.
The group from the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universitas Trisakti, consisting of lecturers and students, was warmly welcomed by Tzu Chi Secondary School. During this visit, they delivered interactive presentations on various aspects of mechanical engineering, including:
- Introduction to Basic Mechanical Engineering: Explaining the basic principles of mechanical engineering and their applications in everyday life.
- Mechanical Engineering Specialization Areas: Introducing various specialization areas in mechanical engineering, such as machine construction, energy conversion, and manufacturing engineering.
- Mechanical Engineering Technology Applications: Showing real examples of mechanical engineering technology applications in industry and modern life.
- Career Opportunities in Mechanical Engineering: Providing information on career prospects for mechanical engineering graduates.
Visit Objectives:
- To introduce the Mechanical Engineering Department to high school students.
- To provide insight into applications and career opportunities in mechanical engineering.
- To increase students’ interest in engineering.
- To establish cooperation between Universitas Trisakti and Tzu Chi Secondary School.
In addition to presentations, students from the Mechanical Engineering Department also held demonstrations of mechanical engineering tools and devices and provided opportunities for Tzu Chi Secondary School students to try out some simple tools. An interactive Q&A session was also held to answer students’ questions about mechanical engineering.
This visit is expected to provide inspiration and motivation for Tzu Chi Secondary School students to consider mechanical engineering as a career choice in the future. In addition, this visit also strengthens the relationship between Universitas Trisakti and Tzu Chi Secondary School.
